My final project
For my final project I'm going to focus on Mongol, because of all the films we've seen this film struck me most visually. The colors of all the costumes and sets and locations were just so vivid, and everything had this larger than life feeling. It's hard to articulate and I'm sure I'm going to have a problem getting into words for the paper. The hardest thing to articulate is my feelings on the steppe that is featured in this film. I love it, it just gives me the overwhelming feeling of peace and tranquility. I don't know if that makes sense. I think its visually interesting watching the battle scenes in this film, when the battlefield is the steppe. I think there's something to be said about the conflicting emotions this evokes. Again I don't know if this makes sense but this is what my paper will focus on, I think. I love the idea of talking about this film's mise en scene elements

I would say that you seem to definitely be on the right track with this final paper. Although it is entirely different from what I am doing, I do think that this will work just fine as long as you make it understandable. Mongol was a great film, and I have cited it in my paper, so I am sure you will not have a problem with being able to get some real work done by breaking it down into the different mise elements. If it turns out as well as I think it could, maybe you should think about possibly getting it ready for presenting at the symposium? Either way, good luck.
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated
I really did enjoy Mongol too. The visuals were brilliant, showing off huge areas in breathtaking quality. I think that it would be an awesome subject to write on. Good Luck!
