24 spoiler!!!!do not read if you watch the show and are not caught up
Okay, well Tony is a bad guy after all. I sort of saw it coming but I actually thought he was going to die instead of what happened. It doesn't make sense because Tony has been helping Jack and the FBI the whole day but now all of sudden is really bad. They better have a good explanation. You know what as I wrote this i just thought of something. He may have only been helping for two reasons 1) he's bad but he does not want to kill thousands or possibly millions of people like Jonas was planning on. Maybe he has a specific target. 2) He was helping only in order to steal a canister of the virus and really did not care if several people died. These are the best I can come up with. Also I wonder what Jonas was referring to as far as his threat to the Pres about being just a small part in a big machine. Also the way Tony killed Moss was strange and really disturbing. Instead of just finishing the job and putting him out of his misery Tony suffocates him which def. took longer than just shooting him. I felt bad for Moss, I liked him and he deserved the silent clock. Also I really thought Kiefer did a great job in this episode with his scene with Kim. He was so convincing and really made the scene quite emotional. Also Elisha Cuthbert did a great job too, usually when Kim comes back its pretty stupid but the scene was great. I read some complaints on how this scene was poorly acted and unneccesary but I say its completely neccesary and expertly acted by both actors. I hope some of you watch 24 so we can chat about this crazy episode.

ER Finale plua the return of Rescue Me
I don't know how many of you watch ER but the season finale was last week and I got to say, I wasn't a faithful watcher of the show but I did watch it enough to feel nostalgia at the end. I haven't watched a season in about 4 or 5 years but I always enjoyed watched reruns on TNT (Primetime in the Daytime). It was a really dynamic show, great guest stars, great ensemble cast, excellent camera work, crazy over the top stories but very entertaining. The show had a 15 year run and it always earned a lot of acclaim. Before the finale they did a retrospective of the show and it was very sad to see all the characters from the past that had left or died, and with almost evert iconic show there was this sense that an end of era had been reached. This same feeling happened with The Sopranos, Seinfeld, Friends, and it will happen with Lost, and 24. But anyways it was a bittersweet moment in TV that I wanted to share with you all. Feel free to let me know what you thought of ER.
Also This week marked the return of one of my favorite shows .......DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!! Rescue Me. The first episode of the season was great, not over the top like a lot of premiers but nonetheless enetertaining Rescue Me has the amazing ability to mix really intense drama with very darkly and sometimes morbid humor. No other show can do this as well as Rescue Me and I'm glad to see the show back. Its been two years maybe more since we've last seen the show and its good to have it back, this is one of those shows that will deninately be missed when its over. The acting from everybody is just sooooo good, it probably has one of the best ensemble casts on TV right now, and they always get very talented guest stars (this season we have a very foul mouthed Michael J. Fox dating Denis Leary's ex-wife. ) Anways I want to here what you guys think about Rescue Me so hit me back.

The Fast and Furious
Well guys its been 8 years since the original gang graced the silver screen with the original Fast and Furious and now they're back in ummmm Fast and Furious. Now I don't think any of you will be too shocked if I told you that this movie sucked (I see most everything because I work at a movie theatre). Well I was never much a fan of the three previous installments of this franchise but they were all at least tolerable. This film was just unbelievably bad. First off, there was really only scene of racing and half the time what we were seeing is an animated GPS screen. Secondly, the special effects were dismal at best. I mean they were so bad I can't imagine the film would've been greenlit. We can of course see why this film got made, it was probably fairly cheap and promised big returns. This film has a large target audience teenage and young adult males and most females for the eye candy (Vin Diesel and Paul Walker). This is why the film got made. Not because its a quality piece of cinema, but because it was cheap and sure fire way of earning profit (Sort of why terrible horror movies keep sprouting up. In this week's Entertainment Weekly they gave the F & F a B+. They cited the reason for the positve review is because the film doesn't pretend to be anything else. It is what it is. In this same issue of EW the feautured columnist says that he is angry at the horrible movies that have been released recently. Like the film companies just want to release cheap garbage that is stupid and brainless. We're better than this and we deserve better films. We do want to escape from the problems we are facing but that doesn't mean we want to see brainless garbage, theres nothing wrong with seeing quality films. We'll the success of the new F & F (72 million) made me think about all the garbage thats being released and how the quality films barely get released at all. Anyway just some thoughts what do you all think.

Beshkempir
I just wanted to get some thoughts out there about this really profound movie. I wrote in this weeks response paper how the film worked, at least for me, on two levels. It gives us a chance to see what life is like in different places, especially for children, but at the same time makes us reflect on our own childhoods. I know this seems silly for someone at a young age to say but being 23 years old, this film made me look back when I was 12 or 13 about the age of the boys in this film and it was a nostalgic experience. I remember getting into silly fights with friends just to make up a couple days to a week later. I think everyone remembers getting into fights about girls or boys. The movie touched me on this level. It also was interesting to see how quickly the children in this film have to grow up. Poor Beshkempir basically shames his family so he runs off only returning because his grandmother has died. I like how the film has him make up with his father and friends because I think that is a universal thing, people coming together after a fight over some sort of tragedy. This was an extraordinarily touching film, thanks for picking this one Bjorn!

My final project
For my final project I'm going to focus on Mongol, because of all the films we've seen this film struck me most visually. The colors of all the costumes and sets and locations were just so vivid, and everything had this larger than life feeling. It's hard to articulate and I'm sure I'm going to have a problem getting into words for the paper. The hardest thing to articulate is my feelings on the steppe that is featured in this film. I love it, it just gives me the overwhelming feeling of peace and tranquility. I don't know if that makes sense. I think its visually interesting watching the battle scenes in this film, when the battlefield is the steppe. I think there's something to be said about the conflicting emotions this evokes. Again I don't know if this makes sense but this is what my paper will focus on, I think. I love the idea of talking about this film's mise en scene elements
