the oscars
I thought this years Academy Award Telecast was pretty good. Hugh Jackman did a half way decent job. The opening was good, the midway musical number was not so good. Out of the 24 awards i guessed 19 right (not bad, i must say). I thought the tribute to those who had passed away was awkwardly handled. Half of the names I couldn't even read because the camera was moving around and looking at the screen from an angle. The one thing I was mostly upset with was Mickey Rourke losing the best acting award. His performance was legendary and he truly deserved it. Sean Penn's acceptance speech I thought was gracious and funny and also profound. Rourke deserved it though. The rest of the night there were really no surprises. Ben Stiller was HILARIOUS!!. I never liked him much but after tropic thunder and this stunt I have a new found respect for Stiller. Also, Seth Rogan and James Franco were very funny as well. Their video really brought up a good point too, Comedies are too often overlooked by the Academy. Anyways any thoughts on the Oscars would great, let me know what you thought.

I agree I think Hugh Jackman did a pretty good job. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the entire show but I did get to watch a good chunk. I also did not like the musical numbers because some of them didn't really pertain. I did however liked Queen Latifa's performance. I think she did really well for her first time at the oscars singing that type of music. It was really shocking. O by the way YAY u on guessing 19 out of 25 that gotta be a record!
Thank you. I was pretty happy with my record, my company does a contest and I won, so that was kinda cool. I thought Queen Latifa did a really good job too
I actually did not think that the Oscar awards were really that good this time around. What it comes down to for me is the best actor, actress, and movie categories. The best actor this time around was simply not as competitive or inspiring as last year. Though Milk was a decent movie and Spicoli did an alright job, I simply was not moved much this year with the program. I guess it may have to do with the fact that it seemed to be comprised mainly of new Hollywood with the accents of some old timers in audience. I just do not really feel that they did as good of a job as they could have with this one. Let It Be Known.
